Nov 06, 2013 · Russian heavyweight boxer Magomed Abdusalamov, who had brain surgery to remove a blood clot early Sunday after his fight earlier that night, has suffered a stroke and is on life support, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
The heavyweight boxer who sustained brain damage in his fight at Madison Square Garden remains in a medically-induced coma and is on life support, his wife now at his side in the intensive care unit of Roosevelt Hospital.
Magomed Abdusalamov (Russian: Магомед Абдусаламов; born 25 March 1981) is a Russian former professional boxer who competed from 2008 to 2013. As an amateur he won the 2005 and 2006 Russian national championships in the super-heavyweight division.
